Dawa Dachhiri Sherpa was born on November 3, 1969 in Taksindu Solukumbu, Nepal. An ultra-trail runner and Nepali founder, he became, in a few years, one of the best runners of ultrafond. After winning hundreds of races including the legendary Ultra-Trail of Mont Blanc, he was offered by the Nepalese Olympic Federation to learn to ski so that Nepal can have a representative at the Olympic Games in Turin.

A vision of sport and competition
Near Lake Dukhunda, Dawa had the vow to discover new horizons and travel the world. His arrival in Europe and his performances will make him a trail icon with an impressive track record. Since his first victory in 1998 on a stage of the Verdon marathon, he has won more than 100 races, including the Annapurna Trail, L'Ardéchois, Le Tchimbé Raid, Trail Ubaye Solomon, Les Templiers, and of course the UTMB he won in 2003. Until 2010, only the Grand Raid of Reunion seemed to resist him since he counted on this race two abandons in two participations (2004 and 2006). He takes his revenge by finishing the 2010 edition in 5th position.

To carry the Nepal flag high
